American Singer Rihanna Tweeted On Farmers Protest In India, Kangana Ranaut Responds

The farmers protest have been going in India for few months now as these farmers are demanding that the Indian government should repeal all the three agriculture reform laws which have been enacted by the government. These farmers have gathered at the borders of the national capital, New Delhi and are not in the mood to retreat until the government repeals all the laws. Though the government is ready to talk with them and many rounds of talks have already taken place but this problem doesn’t seem to get resolved soon.

While the farmers protest have been peaceful for the majority of the time, on 26th January these protests turned violent and around 400 Delhi police officials were injured in these clashes.

Now these protests are also getting international attention as the famous American singer Rihanna took to Twitter and shared an article regarding the farmers protest which talked about internet ban around New Delhi after farmers clashed with the policemen.

Rihanna wrote, “why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest”

Soon the famous environmentalist Greta Thunberg also jumped in to the bandwagon and showed her support for the Indian farmers, she tweeted,

“We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India.”

Soon America’s Vice-President Kamala Harris’s niece Meena Harris also took to Twitter and slammed the Indian government for shutting down the internet and using force against the farmers, she tweeted

“It’s no coincidence that the world’s oldest democracy was attacked not even a month ago, and as we speak, the most populous democracy is under assault. This is related. We ALL should be outraged by India’s internet shutdowns and paramilitary violence against farmer protesters.”

The farmers protest us getting support from other corners as well as UK member of Parliament, Claudia Webbe and Indian-Canadian YouTuber Lilly Singh have also shown their solidarity towards the farmers.

After Rihanna’s tweet, many Indians reacted including the Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. The actress called Rihanna a fool as she tweeted,

“No one is talking about it because they are not farmers they are terrorists who are trying to divide India, so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like USA… Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies.”

Some other Bollywood actors have also responded to the tweets made by the international celebs, while some like Diljit Dosanjh, Richa Chaddha, Swara Bhaskar, tc supported and thanked Rihanna , there were some who asked people not to support those who are trying to divide India. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Suniel Shetty, etc have come out strongly in support of Indian government.

Akshay Kumar tweeted,

“Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences. Folded hands#IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda”

Ajay Devgn tweeted,

“Don’t fall for any false propaganda against India or Indian policies. Its important to stand united at this hour w/o any infighting”

Suniel Shetty tweeted,

“We must always take a comprehensive view of things, as there is nothing more dangerous than half truth. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda”
