It was in the month of March when the whole world started getting ready to fight against the lethal coronavirus but till now the situation can’t be said in control in majority of the countries of the world. What makes coronavirus more harmful is the fact that there is no vaccine for it and prevention is the only cure at the moment. The good thing is that the work of vaccine development is going on in a very fast pace but still it will take some time for the vaccine to be available in the market.
Symptoms of coronavirus:
The most common symptoms of coronavirus are fatigue, fever, dry cough. Some less common symptoms are loss of smell and taste, sore throat, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, body pain, headache and rashes on body. However, things are pretty serious if the person is experiencing breathing problems, problem in speaking and pain in chest.
One of the most important things in the present day world is to keep yourself safe from the wrong information. Here we will tell you about some myths about coronavirus so that you don’t take any mistake in dealing with this virus:
1. Only old people will get this virus:
There is no age criterion for catching the coronavirus, though it is true that old people (above 60 yrs of age) and children (below 10 yrs of age) are more at risk. Person of any age is under the risk of catching the virus if he is not following the safety guidelines.
2. Eating non-veg can cause coronavirus:
There is no evidence to prove that eating non-veg can infect you with coronavirus. If you really want to save yourself from coronavirus, you must take all the precautions.
3. Vitamin C can cure the disease:
Vitamin C is quite helpful in increasing the immunity of the person but there is no substantial evidence to prove that it can cure coronavirus. However, consuming Vitamin C is certainly recommended because strong immunity is what everyone needs in today’s circumstances.
4. Drink hot water to get cured from coronavirus:
The most common symptoms of coronavirus are cough, fever, sore throat, etc and in such conditions, drinking hot water certainly makes a person feel better. However, there is no proof to suggest that drinking hot water is a cure for coronavirus.
5. Spraying alcohol on the body can help in getting rid of coronavirus:
The medical experts may have been advising us to use hand sanitizers which contain alcohol but spraying alcohol on the body won’t be of any help. In fact, it may harm our sensitive body parts and the same thing goes for the chlorine as well.
6. A person is not COVID-19 infected if he can hold his breath for 10 seconds without problem:
Many young people who are infected with coronavirus are able to hold their breath for more than 10 seconds without any problem. However, many old people who are not infected with the COVID-19 won’t be able to hold their breath for even less than 10 seconds. So, in simple words, this is not the correct way to figure out whether a person is COVID-19 infected or not.
7. Ayurveda/Unani/Homeopathic medicines are capable of curing COVID-19:
Presently, there is no medicine which can cure coronavirus, however there are some medicines available which can boost the immunity.
8. Your pet dog can give you coronavirus:
