The Indian television industry is one of the biggest industries of the world and it provides livelihood to a huge number of people but are you really happy with the quality of programs that you get to see on the television. There was a time when all the shows were based on human relationships, especially the saas-bahu (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law) but when people got bored of these concepts, then reality shows came like a refreshing breeze. Almost each channel started its singing reality show, dance reality show, comedy reality show, etc and people used to think that these reality shows are really real and they don’t have any script to depend upon.
However, as time passed by people founded that these reality shows are scripted and even in the talent shows, talent is not the main criteria, many other things are taken into consideration though the audiences are not told about it. Despite all this, reality shows are loved by a huge number of people due to the emotional drama, fights, funny situations that they get to see in these reality shows though they know that almost all of it is fake.

1. Bigg Boss
This is one of the most controversial reality shows of the Indian television and one of the main attractions of this is the host Salman Khan who has been hosting the show for many years. As per the reports, it is being said that the housemates perform only some basic housework and majority of the housework such as washing, cleaning, cooking, etc is done by the staff which is not shown on television.
Though liquor is not allowed on the show but it is being said that liquor is provided to the contestants in the packets of juice. Many people also feel that the audience voting is of no use as who should be saved and who should be evicted is decided by the channel and mostly those people who are not bringing TRP are ousted. It is also said that winner is also chosen by the channel and not by the audiences.
2. Kaun Banega Crorepati
The reality TV Quiz show which is hosted by the legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most popular TV reality shows and there is no denying the fact that many people have earned money by using their knowledge in proper manner. It is also true that the show is a must for those who are interested in increasing their general knowledge.
It is being said that entry in the show doesn’t depends only on the knowledge level of a person but also on his capability to narrate a fake story of his struggles which is written by the writers of the show in order to connect with the emotional chord of the audiences. Even if a person wins Rs.1 crore but he receives only 70 percent amount as the rest is deducted in the taxes.
3. Dance India Dance and other dance reality shows
Dance India Dance is one of the most popular dance reality shows but it has been heard through various channels that not just dance but a person’s background also plays an important role in him getting selected.
Mainly people from poor background or who don’t have good relations with parents or who can lie about their family background are given preference. The contestants with parents and relatives who can act dramatic or stupid in front of the camera are given preference as it helps the makers in attracting the audiences.
4. Indian Idol and other singing reality shows
It is one of the most popular singing reality shows and presently it is getting more attention because of its judge Neha Kakkar who has the ability to shed tears on almost any occasion. It is being said that even poor performers are kept in the show if they can entertain the audiences and make them laugh.
Despite knowing the contestants from the earlier shows where they were judge in the past, the judges act as if they don’t know the contestant and they are listening to him for the first time.
5. MTV Splitsvilla
The dating reality show is based on the love stories, friendships, break-ups, catfights, etc and it is being said that all of this is fake and scripted.
The show which is being hosted by actress Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singha is all about young men and women had to clear various rounds and perform many tasks in order to get their love partner.
