The Makers of Tandav Issued Apology After Getting Slammed For Hurting Religious Sentiments 

Saif Ali Khan starrer web series Tandav is in the center of controversy as people are unhappy with the manner in which the Hindu Gods and Goddesses have been portrayed in the series. A huge number of complaints have been registered against the web series which is being streamed on the Amazon Prime Video and also stars Dimple Kapadia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Sunil Grover and others.

This is not the first time that any web series has been accused of hurting the sentiments of Hindu community but the problems of the makers of Tandav have increased manifold after the Uttar Pradesh government has taken this matter seriously. A complaint has been filed against the producers, director Ali Abbas Zafar and writer Gaurav Solanki in this regard in UP and a police team has also left for Mumbai for investigating the matter further. On Tuesday, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government won’t be sparing those filmmakers who are insulting the Hindu religion in the name of entertainment.

Earlier, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting asked Amazon Prime Video to come up with an explanation in this regard as ministry has received huge number of complaints and grievances against the web series.

When the uproar increased, the actor Saif Ali Khan and the makers of Tandav released an unconditional apology for hurting the sentiments of the people. The makers tried to pacify people by saying that Tandav is a work of fiction and the cast and the crew had no intention of hurting sentiments of anyone.

BJP leader Kapil Mishra has also targeted Ali Abbas Zafar and asked him why he is always targeting Hindu religion, why can’t he make a movie making fun of his own religion. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut responded on Kapil Mishra’s tweet and said that Ali Abbas Zafar won’t live to apologize because he will be beheaded instantly.
