Sushant’s Dil Bechara Breaks Record, Becomes First Indian Movie To Get 10/10 On IMDb

Dil Bechara, the last movie of deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput released yesterday (July 24) on the digital platform Disney plus Hotstar and it was showered with lots of love by fans. Movie buffs not only praised the acting performance of Sushant but they also ensured that the movie gets the highest ratings at IMDb.

Top spot in IMDb:

Pretty soon after its release on the digital platform, the film climbed up the ladder and reached the top position with 10/10 ratings leaving behind the Tamil flick Anbe Sivam (2003) which starred Kamal Haasan and R Madhavan.

Till the time the article was written, Dil Bechara was at the top position with 9.8 ratings.

The movie also stars Sanjana Sanghi in an important role and is the directorial debut of Mukesh Chhabra. This is the first time that Sanjana is seen in the lead role; however she has played small characters in Rockstar, Hindi Medium and Fukrey Returns.

Dil Bechara is inspired from the Hollywood flick The Fault In Our Stars (2014) which was based on the novel of the same name authored by John Green. Dil Bechara is an emotional love story of two youngsters, Kizie played by Sanjana and Manny played by Sushant. While Kizie is a patient of thyroid cancer, Manny was on a remission after fighting with osteosarcoma.

The tremendous response and love from fans

Fans have fallen in love with the film’s songs that have been composed by legendary music director A R Rahman. The trailer of Dil Bechara also received huge response as it became the most liked trailer in the whole world and within the 2 hours of its launch, it was liked 4.8 million times. After the sudden demise of the Kedarnath actor, fans wanted the movie to release in the cinema halls but the makers decided to release it on the digital platform. However, they ensured that many people can watch the film as it has been made available for non-subscribers as well.

Sushant Singh Rajput took his life at his Bandra residence on 14th June 2020 by hanging himself. Though the Mumbai police declared it a suicide, the majority of fans of Sushant Singh Rajput are in no mood to accept what police has said and they are demanding a CBI enquiry in the case. Recently, a twist came in the whole incident when a paranormal expert Steve Huff claimed to have conversation with the spirit of Sushant Singh Rajput and he also uploaded 3 videos of his sessions on YouTube.
