Sushant Singh Rajput’s Few But Amazing Movies In Which He Showed Powerful Performances

The news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has not shaken the whole Bollywood but the complete nation as well. It is really tough to believe that 34-yr old talented actor took such a horrific step. Sushant made his Bollywood debut in 2013 and in this short period of time, he gave us few but very amazing movies.

Let us take a look at the movies of Sushant Singh Rajput:

1. Kai Po Che! (2013):

Abhishek Kapoor directed movie was based on the novel “The 3 Mistakes of My Life” written by Chetan Bhagat. In this movie, Sushant played the role of a former district level cricketer who was not able to make it big because of the politics of cricket selection committee. He gave up his life in the movie saving his own disciple who was from a different religion because he saw the spark which was once inside him as well.

2. Shuddh Desi Romance (2013):

The movie starred Parineeti Chopra and debutant Vaani Kapoor along with Sushant Singh Rajput. It was directed by Maneesh Sharma and bankrolled by Aditya Chopra. The movie gave a perspective on the views of younger generation in regard to marriage, live-in and long term commitment.

3. PK (2014):

Sushant played a supporting role in this Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer which is one of the biggest hits of all times. Raj Kumar Hirani directed the movie and Sushant played the character of a Pakistani guy who falls in love with Anushka’s character.

4. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015):

The movie is based on the fictional character detective Byomkesh Bakshi by  Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay in his detective novel series. The movie was directed by Dibakar Banerjee and a sequel was also planned with Sushant playing the lead role.

5. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016):

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the movie is a biopic of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sushant got into the skin of the character so perfectly that many people entered the cinema hall as Dhoni’s fan but came out as Sushant Singh Rajput’s fan.

6. Raabta (2017):

The movie was based on the concept of reincarnation or rebirth and it also starred Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh in important roles. The movie was directed by Dinesh Vijan and it was not able to impress the audiences.

7. Welcome to New York (2018):

Sushant Singh Rajput did a cameo as himself in this multi-starrer comedy movie which was directed by Chakri Toleti.

8. Kedarnath (2018):

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the movie was Sara Ali Khan’s debut movie. It was about two lovers who were from different religions with the background of 2013 Uttarakhand floods.

9. Sonchiriya (2019):

In this multi-starrer movie, Sushant played the role of a dacoit. His performance received applauds but the movie was not able to do good business at the box-office. The director of the movie was Abhishek Chaubey.

10. Chhichhore (2019):

This comedy movie was Sushant’s last theatrical release and it was directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Shraddha Kapoor played the female lead in the movie. The irony is that in this movie, Sushant’s character tried to make everyone understand why they should not chose suicide as an option but in reality he committed suicide himself.

11. Drive (2019):

Tarun Mansukhani has directed the action movie while Dharma Productions has produced it. The female lead was played by Jacqueline Fernandez.

12. Dil Bechara (2020):

This movie was the last movie of Sushant Singh Rajput in which the female lead was played by debutant Sanjana Sanghi. The movie was directed by Mukesh Chhabra and it was released on the digital platform due to the coronavirus pandemic. The movie was based on the novel The Fault In Our Stars which was written by John Green and both Sushant and Sanjana played the characters of cancer patients. It won’t be wrong to say that Sushant played the character so well that tears roll out of eyes even if you think of the movie.
