Sara Ali Khan, the beautiful actress was in news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past as she was called for questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau in regard to the investigation which started after the sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. However, the actress is now engaged in the promotional activities of her upcoming movie, Coolie No. 1 which also stars Varun Dhawan, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and others in important roles. The movie which is directed by David Dhawan is an adaptation of 1995 released movie of same title which was also directed by David Dhawan and starred Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, etc in important roles. The new version of Coolie No.1 will get released on Christmas this year on the Amazon Prime Video.
There is no denying the fact that Bollywood has been a male dominated industry since its inception and female actresses doesn’t get much importance in comparison to their male counterparts. However, the times are changing now but still a lot is remaining to be done and recently Sara Ali Khan was asked about the less screen time that she got in the movies than her male co-actors whether it is Ranveer Singh in Simmba or Varun Dhawan in Coolie No.1.
Sara was quite clear about her response as she said that she is not interested in competing with her co-actors and she added that aapki aukat nahin hoti (you are not capable of) making such comparisons when you get to work with actors like Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan. She added that actors like her should be very thankful if they get to work with seniors like David Dhawan, Rohit Shetty, Ranveer, etc.
Sara added that screen time is not of much importance as you get to learn a lot from these actors and you are telling a story to people and providing them entertainment and she doesn’t want to get in to the battle of seeing who said which joke. Sara also made it clear that Simmba belongs to her as much as it belongs to Ranveer and it is the collective energy of everyone which makes a movie a good movie and the audiences can feel it while watching the movie.
Sara Ali Khan made it clear that neither she tried to copy Karisma nor Varun tried to copy Govinda because that would have been completely stupid and there would have been no freshness in the movie for the audiences.
The Kedarnath actress also said that releasing a movie on a digital platform is a correct decision in the present situation amidst the coronavirus pandemic. She said it is the safest way to watch movies and have a good time with the family during the Christmas.
Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of actor Saif Ali Khan and actress Amrita Singh and her last release Love Aaj Kal was a failure at the box-office so she must be hoping to get a good response from Coolie No.1.
The trailer of the movie Coolie No. 1 was launched recently and many people compared the new flick with the older one, did you liked the trailer, do let us know.
