7 Bollywood Movies In Which Sushant Singh Rajput Was The Original Choice

Its Sushant Singh Rajput’s birthday today and his fans are remembering him in the manner best suited to them. The Bollywood actor gave some really good performances in his short career and we really wish we could have seen more of him. It was the devastating day of 14 June 2020 on which he was found hanging in his Bandra apartment, though police was not able to recover any suicide note but they found some medicines which confirmed that the actor was suffering from depression. Many stories did rounds after the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput as it was said that some big producers banned him while it was also said that the Kedarnath actor lost some movies due to nepotism.

Every actor accepts some movies and reject some movies due to some reason and today we are going to tell you about some movies for which Sushant Singh Rajput was the original choice but he was not able to work in those movies.

1. Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013)

Sushant Singh Rajput was the first choice for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela but as the Kedarnath actor has signed a contract with the Yash Chopra banner he was not able to work in this movie. Later on, the actor Ranveer Singh was roped in for the lead role.

2. Aashiqui 2 (2013)

In an interview, Mukesh Bhatt had said that Sushant Singh Rajput was quite eager on working the Bhatts and he was finalized for the movie Aashiqui 2 after he gave the audition. However, the role went to Aditya Roy Kapur as things between Bhatts and SSR didn’t work out.

3. Bajirao Mastani (2015)

Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to cast Sushant Singh Rajput in Bajirao Mastani also but at that time SSR was busy with Shekhar Kapoor’s Paani. Sushant was not only attending workshops but also had sported a special look for the movie because of which he refused to work in Bajirao Mastani. While Bhansali made the movie with Ranveer Singh in the lead, Sushant Singh Rajput was quite unlucky as Paani was also shelved.

4. Befikre (2016)

Earlier Aditya Chopra wanted to repeat the hit Jodi of Shuddh Desi Romance (Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Kapoor) in Befikre but for some reason he changed his decision and casted Ranveer Singh for the lead role opposite Vaani Kapoor.

5. Fitoor (2016)

This movie was based on the novel Great Expectations written by Charles Dickens and the director Abhishek Kapoor wanted to cast Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role as they both have worked in SSR’s debut movie Kai Po Che.

But Sushant was busy with some other commitments because of which he was not able to work in the movie and Aditya Roy Kapur was roped in for the role.

6. Half Girlfriend (2017)

The movie was based on the novel with same name written by Chetan Bhagat and the lead role was first offered to Sushant Singh Rajput. However, the Kedarnath actor had to let go the role as he was busy with Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta and Half Girlfriend went to Arjun Kapoor.

7. Romeo Akbar Walter (2019)

Sushant Singh Rajput was finalized for the lead role and even the posters featuring Sushant were out.

But the actor opted out of the movie due to his prior commitments giving a shock to the director and John Abraham got to play the role.

8. Rakesh Sharma biopic (not yet released and Sushant was offered the role but he was not the first choice)

Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma is the only Indian citizen to travel in space and his biopic was supposed to be made with Aamir Khan in lead role but he opted out. The role was then offered to Shah Rukh Khan but he also left it after the failure of his movie Zero.

Sushant Singh Rajput was also among those actors who were offered the role but things didn’t work out and now it is being heard that Farhan Akhtar has been finalized for the role.

Chhichhore was the last theatrical release of Sushant Singh Rajput which was a very big hit and the biggest irony is that in this movie Sushant is the one who is advocating that people should not commit suicide.

Sushant’s last movie was Dil Bechara which had a digital release due to the coronavirus pandemic, the movie was loved by the fans and it won’t be wrong to say that it will always remain close to their heart.
