Bollywood is one of the biggest industries of not just India but of the world as well and it won’t be wrong to say that Bollywood movies are famous for their music, action, romance, comedy, etc all over the world. Very few Bollywood actors carry out the action sequences themselves and majority of the actors prefer to shoot the actions sequences with their body doubles or stuntsman/stuntswomen and today we will tell you about the body doubles of your favorite actors and actresses.

1. Hrithik Roshan – Mohenjo Daro

Hrithik Roshan, who can easily play the role of a Greek God because of his stylish looks likes to perform the action sequences or stunts himself but in Mohenjo Daro, he used body double for stunts. However, Mohenjo Daro was a disaster at the box-office despite the fact that it was directed by the talented director Ashutosh Gowarikar.

2. Aamir Khan – Dhoom 3

The perfectionist of Bollywood, Aamir Khan played double roles in the movie Dhoom 3 and there were some really risky action sequences in the movie for which he used body double.

3. Shah Rukh Khan – Fan

Shah Rukh Khan is certainly going through a rough phase as far his movies is concerned as they are not performing as per the expectations on the box-office. Fan was also one such movie which failed at box-office, SRK played two roles in the movie – one of a Bollywood actor and second of a look-alike fan. He used body-double in Croatia where an action sequence was shot.

4. Shah Rukh Khan – Chennai Express

In this movie, SRK once again worked with Deepika Padukone and it won’t be wrong to say that it was a laughter riot with some fights and action sequences which further increased the fun. In this movie also, SRK used a body double for action sequences.

5. Ranveer Singh – Bajirao Mastani

Ranveer Singh was praised a lot for his acting performance in the movie, Bajirao Mastani and though there were not many action sequences, the actor used body double for some risky sequences.

6. Katrina Kaif – Dhoom 3

The beautiful actress may have worked hard on her dancing skills but for the sequences which involve risk, she uses body double as she used in Dhoom 3 and the Tiger series.

7. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Dhoom

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is not just a talented actress but also one of the most beautiful women of the world and she avoids doing risky sequences on her own and has used body doubles for such scenes.

8. Deepika Padukone – Chandni Chowk to China

Deepika Padukone played double role of twin sisters in the movie and in this movie, her action sequences were performed by a body double who is known as Geeta in the Bollywood.

9. Abhishek Bachchan – Raavan

Raavan was one of the most ambitious projects of director Mani Ratnam but it performed below par on the box-office. In the movie, Abhishek Bachchan’s action sequences were shot using a body double whose name is MS Balram.

10. Salman Khan – Ek Tha Tiger

Ek Tha Tiger was one of the biggest hits of Salman Khan and it was an action packed movie in which a body double Jawed El Berni was roped in to shoot for the risky sequences.

11. Akshay Kumar – Chandni Chowk to China

Akshay Kumar is one of the fittest actors of the Bollywood and he is known for doing his stunts for his movies. However, there are times when Khiladi Kumar also uses a body double for performing a stunt as he used in Chandni Chowk to China.

12. Dimple Kapadia

The beautiful veteran Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia is undoubtedly one of the best actresses that we have seen acting on the big screen. However, the Sagar actress avoided doing risky sequences on her own and a body double Reshma has done risky sequences for her many times.

13. Hema Malini

Reshma, the body double about whom we told you above has also played body double to the Dream Girl of Bollywood, Hema Malini in some movies including Sholay.

14. Shah Rukh Khan – Don

The King Khan of Bollywood used to do some of his stunts on his own earlier in his movies but after he suffered a back injury while shooting for Boney Kapoor directed Shakti, he started using body doubles. Farhan Akhtar’s Don had some really breath-taking action sequences and SRK’s action sequences were carried out by a body double.

15. Meenakshi Sheshadri – Damini

Body double Reshma who performed stunts for many Bollywood actresses in the older times also performed stunts for actress Meenakshi Sheshadri, especially in the movie Damini which also starred Rishi Kapoor and Sunny Deol in important roles.

16. Salman Khan – Tiger Zinda Hai

The second installment of the Tiger series was Tiger Zinda Hai and in this movie, his stunts were carried out by body double Parvez Kazi. Parvez was also roped in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo for the action sequences of Salman Khan.

17. Hrithik Roshan- Bang Bang

Bang Bang was inspired from Hollywood movie, Knight and Day and though Hrithik Roshan likes to perform stunts on his own but in this movie, a body double was used for his action sequences.

While all the risk is taken by the body doubles for which the actors get the appreciation and praise, it is really sad that these body doubles don’t get the respect and credit that they deserve. In fact, their names and other details are also not available which is certainly not correct, movie makers should let the audiences know that who are the ones that have risked their lives for making their movies a success.
